The Benedictine Abbey located in the mountain ranges of Montserrat serves as one of the many retreats towards religion. Part tourist attraction, part town, part graveyard and all Roman Catholic, the Abbey is well known for the black statue of the Lady of Montserrat. And Joan of Arc. And St. Francis of Loyola. How we wish our local churches had rockstars like these.
The ‘Baguio’ of Barcelona is an hour’s drive from the city. You can get there by bus or via cable car. We suggest the former unless you’re prepared for the cold. This was a side trip — a brief respite from the overcrowded convention halls of Mobile World Congress.
